Whatever your style and shape working with women's contours and body issues, we designed a workshop to enable you to do just that. Hurrah Hurrah at last freedom for sewers, create your own designs and turn them into a reality!
Wherever your Sewing Journey has taken you, I'm pretty sure you've experienced the frustration of fitting ones self, need I say more!
The Body Blue Print is a "fantastic workshop" designed to empower you to be in control of creating a vision and then bringing it to life. I'm always delighted and inspired by the creativity in these Workshops.
Working in a small group of four (covid safe,) with Franki an intuitive Pattern Cutter and myself (Caroline) on hand for design, construction techniques and tips, together we will work with you to realise you're creations building your confidence and enhancing your sewing skills we will have a group consultation and identifying your design personality, occasion and of course body shape, we will create a toile of your unique figure, three-dimensionally. When satisfied with the fit we then, work on the table and move all your "fit darts" into seams for a design of your choice and vision.
You will learn the importance of notches, I call them the commas and full stops of pattern making, essential for constructing your garment. You will then make another toile of that design. As this is your Sewing Experience at this junction you can then start to make your garment or work on yet another design and go home with two designs (time allowing).
However, you see yourself as a screen siren or a demure diva let us help you fulfil your creativity and entice the designer within.

I'm booked on one of your workshops what do I need to bring?
Please bring:
On day one in the afternoon we will be creating mood boards, so please bring magazines and cuttings, rough sketches, of things you like( not necessarily clothing), this will help you unravel you're personality. Could you please bring three items of clothing that you like (doesn't need to fit) and one garment that you dislike. We will discuss lifestyle, occasion and body shapes etc. This will prepare us for day two when we start creating you're first design. This is a valuable process and helps convey your vision. You can take your mood board home and keep going with ideas, as you can carry on making from your Blue Print.
A basic sewing kit ie- tape measure, fabric scissors, paper scissors, pins, quick unpick, pattern ruler, scotch tape, a pattern maker and tracing wheel, although you can buy these on the day, something to scribble notes in. We provide Janome sewing machines but if you feel happier bringing you're fave from home then feel free.
We will be making several Toiles and provide fabric and paper at a small cost.
